Details

The Woodhorn Museum Aquabike, Aquathlon & Triathlon events are great for beginners and for those who would like to move up from the Sprint distance to the Standard distance events. The events are competitive, but fun and spectators will be out in force to cheer competitors on, providing a truly amazing atmosphere. An ideal event to add to your multisport calendar!

The swim will be in the warm shallow freshwater QE2 lake set within the park grounds. The bike route will take you out of the Museum along to the coastal route through Widdrington Village, before sweeping onto the coast and along to the beautiful Druridge bay and Cresswell village with some breath-taking views along the coastline.

The run will be on the footpath that winds its way through the woodland and open grasslands that surround the lake. The run passes by the finish line within the Museum at the end of each lap making this ideal for spectators to cheer everyone on to a great finish with a big smile.

The Woodhorn Museum Aquabike, Aquathlon & Triathlon events are ideal for individuals and relay teams of all abilities, so if you are a new to the sport, there’s no need to be concerned about entering. We look after everyone regardless; we will be with you all the way to the finish line, and you can be assured that there will be plenty of other multi-sport athletes of a similar ability taking part.

If you are worried about open water swimming, why not join us for our weekly open water swimming sessions at the QE2 lake (every Thursday, May - July), further details are on our VO2Max Racing Events open water swim training
