The Northumberland Duathlon boasts a distinguished history of hosting national events, having previously served as a British Triathlon Standard Distance Duathlon Age Group Qualifier for the World Standard Distance Duathlon Championships in 2023 and 2024.
The picturesque Druridge Bay Country Park, hosts the Northumberland Duathlon. The Country park is nestled along the beautiful Northumbrian coast. The park provides an ideal setting for the Northumberland Duathlon, making it an excellent choice for both newcomers to the sport and seasoned athletes seeking a personal best.

Sprint Distance Duathlon - Distance: Run 5.75km / Bike 19km / Run 5.75km
Standard Distance Duathlon (Age Group Qualifier) - Distance: Run 11.5km / Bike 38km / Run 5.75km
The minimum age for the sprint distance is 15 years old on 31st December 2025, and for the standard distance event is 17 years old on 31st December 2025.
The run route follows the footpath that winds its way through the woods and meadows that surround the lake. The bike route will take you out of the Country Park along the flat coastal route. No Drafting allowed on the bike. British triathlon drafting rules explained here
Following on from the success of its sister event, The Northumberland Triathlon. The Duathlon distances and courses are well suited to beginners and equally attractive to seasoned competitors and those Competitors wishing to move up from a short sprint to a longer standard distance duathlon. An ideal event to start your season!
Druridge Bay Country Parks is located on a beautiful stretch of Northumberland coastline next to the stunning Druridge bay beach. It is a popular place to cycle, run, swim, walk, paddle, sail, and surf. The Country Park comprises of a café, Visitors centre, outdoor children’s play area, sheltered picnic areas, camping, caravanning and motor home facilities for you to enjoy and relax.
