Situated on the Northumbrian coastline, the stunning Druridge bay country park is the perfect venue for the Northumberland Festival of Sport. The Event has a successful history in hosting national events, the event has previously hosted the British Triathlon Championships & British Triathlon Standard Distance Aquabike Age Group Qualifier for the World Standard distance Aquabike Championships.

The Northumberland Festival of Sport is a successful and established event attracting a wide range of competitors from all abilities. It is very well suited to beginners, equally attractive to seasoned competitors and those Competitors wishing to move up from sprint to standard distance in Aquabike, Aquathlon & Triathlon. The standard of racing will be competitive, but fun and spectators will be out in force to cheer competitors on, providing a truly amazing atmosphere. An ideal event to add to your multisport calendar!
The swim will take place in the warm shallow freshwater Ladyburn Lake set within the park grounds. The bike route will take you out of the Country Park along a beautiful coastal route. No Drafting allowed on the bike. British triathlon drafting rules explained here
The run is a multi-lap route on the footpath that winds its way through the woods and meadows that surround the lake.
Druridge Bay Country Parks is located on a beautiful stretch of Northumberland coastline next to the stunning Druridge bay beach. It is a popular place to cycle, run, swim, walk, paddle, sail and surf. The Country park comprises of a café, Visitors centre, outdoor children’s play area, sheltered picnic areas, camping, caravanning and motor home facilities for you to enjoy and relax. Perfect for a fun family day out, or you could make a weekend of it!
The minimum age for the Sprint Distance events is 15 years old on 31st December 2025, and for the Standard Distance events is 17 years old on 31st December 2025. Please note that all Youths (under 16 on 31st December 2025) must hand in a signed parental consent form at registration.
