We had perfect conditions last night at the QE2 lake for the final open water swim session of the year at that venue - more like swimming in a bath than a lake! 79 swimmers attended last night and rounded off another great season of swimming.
Please note that no swimming is allowed in the QE2 lake outside of the organised sessions, which means no more swimming there this year. Please don't jeorpardise future years by swimming at QE2, Northumberland County Council have been fantastic in granting us permission to use the lake and we want that relationship to last many years. There is an alternative at Ladyburn Lake up at Druridge Bay, where swimming is allowed; or in the sea at Newbiggin now that temperatures are creeping up.
We'll be having a break for a few weeks due to holidays, but we'll be back swimming at Newbiggin from mid-August - keep an eye on the website and on http://www.trinorthumberland.co.uk/open-water-swimming for exact dates. We'll be meeting at church point car park from 6pm for a 6:30 start. We hope to see some of you there, particularly those getting ready for the Newbiggin Sprint Triathlon on 1st September!
